Four-time NRL Premiership winner Nathan Cleary is apparently “quite keen” on a shock move across codes to rugby union, with legendary Wallaby Tim Horan dropping a bombshell piece of transfer gossip this week. Cleary started at halfback for New South Wales on Wednesday, as they dominated the Queensland Maroons 18-6 at Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium, although the playmaker did miss all three conversion attempts.

Former Wallabies lock Sam Carter will hang up the boots after the Western Force take on the British & Irish Lions at Optus Stadium next month, which could potentially be an incredible swansong farewell from the professional game. Carter has enjoyed a decorated 14-year professional rugby career, which has included time with clubs both in Australia and abroad. The 35-year-old has played more than 130 Super Rugby matches across stints with the Brumbies and the Force.

Krifi captained the All Blacks XV during an unbeaten two-game tour in Europe last year, before the backrower was called into the top squad as injury cover.

Former All Black Jeffery Toomaga-Allen has re-committed to the Queensland Reds for the 2026 Super Rugby Pacific season, joining Wallabies Josh Flook and Seru Uru in signing one-year contract extensions with the Queensland Rugby Union. Toomaga-Allen’s fresh deal was announced by the Reds on Thursday, following the news earlier in the week that both Flook and Uru had re-signed. Queensland have also secured the services of Wallabies like Harry Wilson and Fraser McReight through until the end of 2027.
