DiscussionOur systematic review identified 29 unique RCTs comparing SMAs for one or more LTCs to usual care or an enhanced SMA or SMA delivered via an alternative mode. We found a statistically significant improvement in DBP for patients in SMAs compared with usual care, albeit a small effect size.
