Rotator cuff-related shoulder (RCRSP) is common and significantly impacts individuals. Conservative management involving rehabilitation exercises is recommended, yet there is a lack of evidence exploring why people do or do not do these rehabilitation exercises. This study explored the barriers and enablers experienced by people with RCRSP to adhering to shoulder rehabilitation exercises.

DiscussionThis study explored the barriers and enablers to physiotherapist-prescribed rehabilitation exercises for people with RCRSP. Deductive thematic analysis was used to synthesise barriers and enablers to the following sections of the topic guide; initial consultation, HEP experience and patient education.
