IT wasn’t the first time in my life I was relying on Dutch Courage — but the age old phrase takes on a whole new meaning when suspended 100ft in the air. I found myself facing a 87 degree drop, at a speed of 56 miles per hour while belted into an enormous roller coaster in Holland. Luckily for me, my nail-biting ordeal only lasted 130 seconds and, I will admit, it was equal parts terrifying and exhilarating.

THESE are some of the lucky little artists who are in with a chance of meeting Santa this winter on a magical trip to Lapland. For the last few weeks we’ve been inundated with works of art from budding Picassos who have entered the annual Barnardos/Irish Sun Big Toddle colouring competition. Now it’s down to the difficult task of picking a winner, but not before we show off the skills of some of Ireland’s young creators.

FOOTIE mad dad Karl Kavanagh put his best foot forward and let his feet do the talking - completing an amazing 100,000 keepie uppies for Barnardos. Karl, 44, finished his amazing feet on Thursday and has already raised an incredible €5,500 for the children's charity. The dad-of-three said: “ The challenge was relentless as every day you woke up needing to do another 3333 keepie uppies, all while having to work and do all the other GAA and football me and the kids are involved in.

AER Lingus has confirmed a major move to improve customer experience for its thousands of passengers. The Irish airline has partnered with software giants Salesforce to help speed up its dealings with punters. A survey found 96 per cent of customers say excellent customer service builds trust, and to continue their track record the national airline has teamed up with customer relationship expert Salesforce as they continue to invest in their digital transformation.

Karl Kavanagh reveals most surprising side-effect of epic charity featA FOOTIE mad dad is putting his best foot forward for charity by doing 100,000 keepie uppies in November to raise money for children in need. Advertising manager Karl Kavanagh, 44, will do at least 3,000 each day until the end of the month, in the hope of helping Barnardos to ensure some of the most vulnerable kids in the country have a happy Christmas.
