New Agriculture, a division of New Forests Asset Management, has launched a landscape strategy aiming to raise A$750m (€414m) to invest in sustainable agriculture projects in Australia and New Zealand. The strategy will focus on four sectors – rain-fed and irrigated row cropping, horticulture, livestock and related agriculture infrastructure. It will also seek to capitalise on the emerging environmental markets such as carbon and biodiversity, renewable energy and conservation covenants.

Asia Pacific real estate investment manager SC Capital Partners has bought a 165-room hotel for its Japan hospitality fund. The manager has invested an unspecified sum to acquire the asset in Kagoshima on behalf of the Japan Hospitality Fund I. Suchad Chiaranussati, chairman and founder of SC Capital Partners, said the investment further strengthens the firm’s presence in Japan’s hospitality sector.

Warburg Pincus has acquired the Tokyo Beta portfolio, the largest share house portfolio in Japan, for an undisclosed price. The Warburg Pincus Asia Real Estate Fund (WPARE) has acquired the portfolio of 1,195 wooden detached houses, totaling 6,192 rooms. The portfolio represents more than 50% of the share house market in Tokyo.
