MILAN (Reuters) -Italian energy group Eni on Thursday reported a smaller than expected 11% yearly drop in adjusted net profit for the first quarter. Adjusted net profit came in at 1.41 billion euros ($1.60 billion) between January and March, down from 1.58 billion euros in the first quarter of 2024, but above an analyst consensus of 1.15 billion euros compiled by the company.

MILAN/LONDON (Reuters) -Global commodity traders including Glencore and Gunvor are looking at the possibility to buy oil refiner Italiana Petroli (IP) API group, two sources said on Thursday, adding that binding bids for the company are due by the end of May. State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) is also looking at the asset, the two sources and an additional person with knowledge of the deal told Reuters.
