A student of the Obafemi Awolowo University’s Centre for Distance Learning, CDL, Ile-Ife, was electrocuted on Saturday evening while attempting to retrieve a football in Moro, Osun State. The incident reportedly occurred at a private hostel situated along the Moro–Ife Road, where the student had been playing football with friends. An eyewitness to the incident disclosed that the ball had strayed into a nearby compound, prompting the deceased to scale the fence in an attempt to retrieve it.

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Osun State, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has appealed to President Bola Tinubu to urgently tackle the recent upsurge in kidnapping and other insecurity challenges confronting the country. Oyintiloye made the appeal while speaking with journalists on Sunday in Osogbo. He said that the gains that the security agencies had recorded in the fight against insecurity under the present administration should not be allowed to slide away.

The Osun Amotekun Corps has arrested a 25 year old man, Adebayo Azeez for theft of electricity wire valued at approximately N1.3 million. A statement signed by Corps Commander, Isaac Omoyele and issued by spokesperson, Yusuf Idowu Abass revealed that Azeez is an ex-convict. The arrest followed a distress call made by concerned residents of the area who witnessed suspicious activities involving the suspect and his accomplices.
