    The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Osun State has called out the Attorney General and Minister of Justice of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi over alleged abuse of office and high handedness. The party also revealed that the actions of Fagbemi in regards to the seizure of allocations to the state was dangerous erosion of the doctrine of separation of power. It called on President Bola Tinubu, to rein in Fagbemi and remind him that no one is above the law.

    The Amotekun Corps in Osun State has debunked reports that its operatives arrested community chiefs in part of the state. The corps made this known in a statement reacting to allegations contained in a publication that it has commenced massive arrest and detention of traditional chiefs, believed to be members of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in Itapa, Atakumosa East local government area of the state.

    Dr Akin Ogunbiyi a gubernatorial aspirant in the Osun 2026 governorship election has hinted that screening method for multiple aspirants in the All Progressives Congress, APC, for the guber race will be determined by the party leadership. Ogunbiyi also said the possibility of any aspirant decamping from the party on account of loosing the gubernatorial ticket is unthinkable. He dropped this hint as he formally declared his intention to contest for the governorship election in Ile-Ogbo on Saturday.
