The Tijuana Xolos played their last home game in the Liga MX 2025 Clausura season this Thursday, April 10. With not much to play for, a great game was not expected between Club Tijuana and Atletico de San Luis. Cirilo Saucedo only made one change to his starting 11 as Alan Vega came in for San Diego native Joe Corona in this match. The Xoloitzcuintles were coming off a 2-1 loss to Necaxa at home and were at least looking for a positive result for the home fans.

Attacking play is not what these two players excel in or their primary function within this team, so it was nice to see the pair score last Saturday night. Both scored similar goals, in which a winger provided an assist in the penalty area, and the respective midfielder finished the opportunity.

Hirving Lozano, Anders Dreyer, and Onni Valakari were able to create moments of magic for San Diego FC in the 3-0 win vs. Seattle. This was the first time this season that the three players started a game as the attacking trident for Mikey Varas. “Chucky” Lozano was just returning from an injury and ended up having a tremendous performance with a goal and an assist. The assist came on a well-worked play off a corner kick as Luca de la Torre quickly passed the ball to Lozano.

Club Tijuana was coming off a huge 2-1 away win against Monterrey with interim manager Cirilo Saucedo at the helm. With playoffs basically impossible at this point of the season for Xolos, there was really only pride and personal gain on the line.

San Diego FC will host Seattle Sounders at Snapdragon Stadium for a match in the seventh matchday of the 2025 MLS season. SDFC is coming off a huge 3-2 win against LAFC in what was San Diego’s first-ever home win. Christopher McVey, Onni Valakari and Alex Mighten score the goals that led to this victory. Valakari was really a standout in this match as he also provided the assist on Mighten’s goal. Christopher McVey also put in a busy performance in the backline along with his goal.

The Tijuana Xolos will play their penultimate home game of the 2025 Clausura season this Friday, April 4. The Border City Dogs will host Necaxa, who have been one of the more surprising teams this season. Necaxa are currently in sixth place with 24 points, coming off a 2-0 win against Queretaro. Los Rayos have won six games and only lost two in their last eight matches. While the playoffs are not a lock yet for Necaxa, the team from Aguascalientes is expected to make the postseason.
