    A biology professor recently brought a bill introduced in the Minnesota Legislature to my attention. This bill attempts to criminalize a certain vaccine technology, the newer messenger RNA (mRNA) method which was used to create some of the Covid vaccines. The MN bill has gained national attention.

    Lately, we have been getting lots of news about the recent recurrence and continuing spread of red measles (rubeola) in the U.S. Unfortunately, there is also news of decreasing children’s immunization for it with the MMR vaccine (one of the safest vaccines ever made). What diseases do the other two letters stand for? M is for mumps, which doesn’t produce a skin rash. R is for rubella or German measles, which does produce a rash in almost everyone infected.
