Strengths and limitationsAn RCT was not possible as the enhanced IAPT service was part of a local service redesign, thus treatment allocation could not be controlled by the researchers. Instead, we used a quasi-experimental design based on real-world data (ie, IAPTs EHRs) to estimate the effectiveness of the enhanced IAPT service.
