Photo by Cooper Neill/Getty Images On Thursday, the Ravens made a surprise splash move by signing wide receiver Rashod Bateman to a new three-year, $36.75 million ($20 million guaranteed) contract extension. The Baltimore Beatdown staff provide their reactions to this move below. I am glad to see the Ravens reward Bateman for such a strong breakout season after injuries derailed the promising start to his NFL career.

Photo by Dustin Bradford/Getty Images The Baltimore Beatdown staff share who their favorite pick was of the Baltimore Ravens 2025 NFL Draft class. It’s the chalk, boring choice but my favorite draft pick from this year’s Ravens’ class is Malaki Starks. He checks off almost every box the Ravens needed in their first round selection. He fits a position of need, was a great value pick, and is NFL-ready to play big defensive snaps right away.

Below are the reactions from the contributors of Baltimore Beatdown. Strictly football, this is a brilliant pick. The Ravens nab one of the drafts best edge rushers with insane production. In his final season at Marshall, he produced 17.0 sacks and 22.5 tackles for loss and 3 forced fumbles. He was the No. 10 ranked overall prospect by The Athletic’s Dane Brugler.

Photo by Scott Winters/Icon Sportswire via Getty Images With the No. 27 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Baltimore Ravens select Malaki Starks, safety, Georgia. Below are the reactions from the contributors of Baltimore Beatdown. All along, mock drafts believed Starks was going to be the pick and now it’s become reality. The addition of Starks immediately bolsters the Ravens’ defense back to their dynamic glory with three-safety packages.

Photo by Brooke Sutton/Getty Images The Baltimore Ravens will make their selection in the first round in just a few days. They go into the draft needing very little and wanting a lot: an elite rusher to take down the quarterback, some more top-end defensive back talent, reinforcements along both trenches. But the top of the roster and starters are mostly penciled in. They truly could go in any direction; the pick at 27th overall is a luxury for them.
