Russell is one of the most celebrated members in the history of the Boston Celtics organization, and on Monday his contributions on and off the court were honored by having his name adorn a bridge in the city that claims his greatness.

(WJAR) — President Joe Biden surprised a Pawtucket kindergarten teacher with the news that her student loans had been forgiven. The interaction was captured in a video put out on social media by the White House. It shows Pawtucket teacher Kelly Beckford speaking about what it would mean if her student debt was forgiven, and later the President walks in and tells her the good news. “It’s so nice to meet you,” Beckford said shaking Biden’s hand. “Nice to meet you,” says the President.

(WJAR) — Communications professional Joy Fox is in the process of purchasing the Warwick Beacon and its sister newspapers. Fox confirmed to NBC 10 that she is working on finalizing an agreement with the current owner, Beacon Communications Inc. She will be taking over for John Howell, who has served as the paper's publisher for decades. According to a Warwick Beacon article announcing the transfer of ownership, Howell is expected to stick around as editor of the Beacon.
