Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested five suspected gang members linked to the fatal shooting of a police officer on patrol in Nakuru City on Sunday night. Acting on intelligence, a team drawn from the DCI’s Operation Action Team and Crime Research Bureau joined their Nakuru counterparts in a coordinated raid that led to the suspects being flushed out of their hideouts.

Three police officers in Nakuru County are recovering in the hospital after being ambushed by an armed gang while on patrol. According to Nakuru East Sub County Police Commander Samson Adanje, the gang launched a surprise attack on the officers in Nakuru's Free Area Estate. Attempts by the officers to subdue the attackers were unsuccessful, resulting in injuries during the confrontation.
