Backed by the West, Israel’s genocide in Gaza continues, and the conflict has expanded to fronts like Lebanon. Israeli actions in Iran and Lebanon have escalated tensions, drawing in Tehran. The humanitarian toll is immense, with over 40,000 Palestinians killed and millions displaced.

DiEM25 opposes the EU Commission’s Chat Control plan that would allow for the powers that be to monitor private communications through supposed protection of minors. The EU claims to stand for freedom and democracy but, behind closed doors, it has hatched another scheme for mandatory mass-surveillance. The total surveillance of 450 million EU citizens’ private communications is not an effective means to better protect children from being abused.
