Food allergy (FA) and plant-based diets (PBD) involve dietary restrictions, which may increase risks for nutritional deficiencies. FA and PBD may coexist, which may create more challenges during nutritional counselling. Counselling should include emphasis on both macronutrients and micronutrients, and growth should be monitored. In some cultures and countries, versions of plant-based diets (PBD) have been practised for centuries [1].
