Annual inflation in Norway between April 2025 and the same month last year was measured at 2.5 percent, figures released by the national data agency Statistics Norway on Friday showed. “It was especially the prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages that contributed to the drop in the growth rate,” section manager Espen Kristiansen said of the figures. Food prices fell two percentage points from March to April this year, but were only 3.1 percent higher than in April last year.

The health and social services industry remains the sector with the greatest Labour shortage, despite a slight decrease since last year. Norway’s health and social services sector was missing some 11,450 workers. The biggest shortages were health professionals. This term refers to trained and certified healthcare workers in Norway.

The Progress Party biggest right-wing party in new poll The Progress Party is currently the largest right-wing party in Norway, according to the latest polling from Opinion on behalf of Altinget and ABC Nyheter for May. The party would have received 23.9 percent of the votes if an election had been held at the time the polling was carried out. Meanwhile, the Conservative Party has recently seen its popularity decline, and would have received 18.5 percent of the votes.
