At a time when the Trump administration is doing everything in its power to stop the development of offshore wind, it’s heartening to hear of Vineyard Wind’s victory in the Supreme Court (Supreme Court rejects 2 challenges to Vineyard Wind, May 6). A federal judge’s decision blocking a lithium drilling project in Arizona this month poses some difficult questions. While the pursuit of green energy is crucial, it can’t bulldoze the rights and sacred lands of Native American tribes. The Hualapai Tribe’s concerns are legitimate, and their cultural heritage and spiritual sites deserve protection. Environmental justice is central to any meaningful shift toward sustainable practices.
