Defi apps on Bitcoin L2s will need to offer a higher yield than bitcoin DeFi on Ethereum to extract market share from the wrapped BTC market. Bitcoin L2s are only likely to be successful if they can take market share away from DeFi apps that accept tokenized versions of BTC like WBTC, tBTC, and cbBTC. A vibrant DeFi ecosystem on Bitcoin L2s is the most important development for the long-term adoption of L2s.
