Stranahan’s Distillery has unveiled the newest iteration of its annual Snowflake special release, marking the 27th whiskey in a series that has grown into a tradition, a festival and for some, a pilgrimage. Snowflake began in 2007 when Stranahan’s co-founder Jesse Graber created an exclusive release that had whiskey aficionados buzzing. It evolved into an annual whiskey release and special occasion, with the task of designing and blending it passing to subsequent distillers over the years.

One such sui generis, “broke-the-mold” product—Warming Hut, from Hinterhaus Distilling in Arnold, California—is the result of a serendipitous combination of bourbon and too much port wine.
