The 28th Conference of the Parties to the UN's Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) drew to a late close last week following last minute negotiations over the headline text from the negotiations, the Global Stocktake Text (GST). Below, we summarise the international commitments made in the GST, and consider three significant developments for businesses coming out of COP28: the energy transition, climate finance, the just transition, and the role of nature.
