MISSION, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A man who confessed to robbing a church in Mission was arraigned. Noe Garza, 56, appeared before a judge for breaking into a church in Mission and stealing items valued at $4,050. He was given a $10,000 bond. Garza confessed to the burglary which happened April 9 at the 6700 block of Navaho St. in rural Mission. At the scene, responding deputies spoke with the victim, who reported several items were missing from the church’s storage room.

SAN BENITO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Thursday morning to celebrate the grand opening of a fitness court in San Benito. The outdoor fitness court was developed by the City of San Benito, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas and NFC to create access to exercise to the Rio Grande Valley. The court features seven exercise stations for people of all abilities and fitness levels.

Esther Akindayomi claims her godson Miracle was the victim in the video and is working to bring justice and raise awareness on anti-bullying. “We’re really here to bring awareness about this issue,” Akindayomi said.
