Screen Australia has named Michele McDonald to the newly created role of producer offset and co-production unit (POCU) advisor. The Producer Offset is a refundable tax offset (rebate) for producers of Australian feature films, television and other projects. Production is underway in New South Wales on Baltasar Kormákur's survival thriller Apex for Netflix. The film stars Charlize Theron, Taron Egerton, and Eric Bana, and filming began in February in Sydney and Western Sydney. From Monday March 3 to Friday, March 8, filming will take place in Glenbrook Gorge, using a unit base set up at Lapstone Oval. The film follows a grieving woman who retreats into the wilderness, only to find herself in a game of cat and mouse with a serial killer.
