CHICAGO - Hundreds will gather in Chicago this morning at a special Mass to celebrate the election of Pope Leo XIV. The Mass of Thanksgiving will take place at 8 a.m. at Holy Name Cathedral on the city's Near North Side. Lawrence J. Sullivan, vicar general of the Archdiocese of Chicago, will preside over the ceremony as the main homilist. The Mass will be streamed live in the media player at the top of this story.

What we know: The blaze started around 6 a.m. at a building in the 1300 block of East 142nd Street. It was elevated to a three-alarm response. Crews were on the scene, applying water to the fire. The building appears to be a total loss. What we don't know: The cause of the fire is under investigation.
