Immanual Lutheran Church in Absarokee welcomes Seminarian Judy Manweiler as pastor. A Joliet resident, Pastor Manweiler has been studying for the ministry for several years, and recently became a Certified Lay Pastoral Assistant of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. She is currently a Seminarian at Luther House of Study, anchored in Lutheran theology. She is scheduled to finish her studies and become an ordained minister by early 2025.

This week, on the corner of Pratten Street and Pike Avenue in Columbus, sat a truck. Not just any truck, but a giant truck and trailer weighing 500,000 pounds (or 250 tons) when loaded. I’m always curious about things that seem a little off, so I stopped to talk to the first person I saw. It happened to be Will Kelsey, the man in charge of moving the giant truck.

When we arrived home today from one of those scattergun trips to Billings, three boxes of books holding my tenth book, Murder in the Diocese, greeted us. It was the first book that I wrote (out of ten!) and might be my favorite. I want to show my new book off! We will host a Book Launch at Uncle Sam’s at 619 Clough Street from 2—6 on Tuesday, November 12 and I hope you’ll drop by for a libation and a cookie and take a gander at my book.

This week’s ramblings led me to Gretchen Graham, an avid pickleball player right here in Columbus. I don’t know much about pickleball, but thought now is a good time to learn, so my husband Cowboy and I met her at the newly surfaced tennis courts, which have recently been marked with pickleball boundaries.
