My understanding is that Gillon McLachlan is close to signing. It’s taken him a little while to be persuaded to take on this role, if he does, as Chairman of Racing Victoria. It’s been the talk since Brian Kruger left that role, that Gillon McLachlan would actually be a perfect replacement. Mike Hirst has been the interim chairman and he’s about to depart the Board at Racing Victoria, along with Greg Nichols.They’ll vacate their positions on June 30.

In July this year, the Supreme Court handed down its long-awaited decision in Philipp v Barclays Bank UK Plc [2023] UKSC 25. In doing so, the Supreme Court departed from the Court of Appeal's decision and significantly refined the circumstances in which victims of authorised push payment fraud ("APP fraud") can successfully rely on the Quincecare duty of care to seek reimbursement of funds from their bank.
