Archaeologists have discovered part of an ancient Roman basilica under an office block in London. The 2,000-year-old ruins, once a public building where major political, economic and administrative decisions were made, were found underneath 85 Gracechurch Street, a commercial office close to Bank tube station and London Bridge, which is due to be demolished. Specialists from Museum of London Archaeology (MOLA), an archaeology and built heritage practice, found the base of the basilica last year.

Roman sculptures from the Torlonia collection—considered to be the finest group of Greco-Roman antiquities still in private hands—will tour the United States and Canada next year, marking the first time these works have been shown outside Europe. The tour launches at the Art Institute of Chicago (15 March–29 June 2025) before travelling to the Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth (14 September 2025–25 January 2026) and the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts (14 March 2026–19 July 2026).

L’Unesco est intervenue pour protéger le patrimoine du Liban en plaçant 34 sites historiques sur sa liste de protection renforcée. Cette décision fait suite aux frappes aériennes israéliennes sur le pays, qui se sont intensifiées ces derniers jours. La décision de sauvegarde a été prise à l’issue d’une « session extraordinaire » du comité pour la protection des biens culturels en cas de conflit armé, qui s’est tenue à Paris le 18 novembre, selon un communiqué de l’Unesco.
