DiscussionTo our knowledge, this is the first published study exploring the impact of community asset mapping as a component of the undergraduate medical curriculum. In summary, our major findings were that medical students embraced the concept of ABCD, felt that asset mapping offered a unique understanding of the social within the biopsychosocial model and that it complemented their other learning experiences.

The councillor for Falkirk South is now also one of the 37 Scottish Labour MPs who were part of a Labour landslide that saw the party win 412 seats nationally. The Falkirk result wasn't one many would have predicted at the start of the campaign - overturning an SNP majority of nearly 15,000.

The watchdog responsible for councillors' conduct is to hold a hearing after a complaint was made about a Falkirk councillor. Independent councillor Brian McCabe, who represents Denny and Banknock, has been asked to attend a hearing by the Standards Commission on September 4. The online hearing - which will be livestreamed but not recorded - was called following a report by the Ethical Standards Commissioner (ESC).

A school trip has reportedly ended in tragedy after a teenage pupil drowned on the Sussex Coast. The 17-year old boy, who has yet to be named, was understood to be among a group of 50 pupils on a trip to West Wittering, a popular celebrity hotspot. Emergency services were scrambled to the area after reports that a teenager had got into difficulty at around 1pm on Tuesday.

A heartbroken vet asked to put down a seven week-old Labrador puppy has shared his incredible response to the owners - and admitted the dog was now ‘his new son’. Veterinary surgeon Dr Oliver Reeve was shocked when the owners brought in Toby. The Labrador puppy weighed just 5KG and was so young he should never have been removed from his mother. Instead the owners carried him in to see Dr Reeve and asked that he be put to sleep.
