Missing teen Jay Slater’s final phone call provided a vital "clue" that helped guide the major search, police have said. Jay, 19, has been missing since June 17 after he vanished in the remote Rural de Teno area of Tenerife while on holiday. His disappearance sparked a huge search operation and a massive online campaign but so far the teen has not been found. The apprentice bricklayer had been in Tenerife with friends for a three-day music festival.

A child abuser who targeted young girls during sleepovers at his Falkirk home has been jailed. Anthony Walker raped one child and used lewd, indecent, and libidinous practices towards all five victims between 1998 and 2007. The children were aged between six and 13 when the abuse began. A Scots biker is gearing up for an epic 3,225-mile challenge to raise funds for a prostate cancer charity in memory of his friend who died following a battle with the "silent killer". Wayne Clarke, an air traffic control officer at Aberdeen Airport, has been inspired to ride in memory of tragic pal Alan, who passed away in May last year. The 57-year-old began to feel unwell just months after taking early retirement. He was later diagnosed with stage four prostate cancer.

The mum of an Aberdeen man who died in jail has hit out after an investigation into his death was delayed again. Warren Fenty was 20 when he died from a drug overdose at Kittybrewster Police Station in the Granite City in 2014. His mum, Sharon Fenty, has been waiting nearly ten years to find out what happened. The inquiry into his death is now the one that has taken the longest in Scotland.

A car burst into flames on a major road in Aberdeen causing traffic chaos. The burning vehicle was seen on the A96 near to the city's major conference and events space the P&J Live arena, on Tuesday morning. The car was abandoned on the outside lane of the westbound carriageway, on the dual carriageway section of the A96 just east of Craibstone roundabout.
