A woman who lost her five-year-old daughter and her partner in the Creeslough explosion has described a planning application to redevelop the site as insensitive and disrespectful. Little Shauna Flanagan-Garwe and her dad Robert Garwe were among ten people killed in a blast at a filling station in the County Donegal village in October 2022. Shauna's Mum Aine Flanagan, who was Robert’s partner, is making a last ditch plea to Donegal County Council officials to reject the proposal.

The mother of a young woman from Donegal murdered in Goa fears the trial of the man accused of killing her daughter will be bogged down in constant delay. 28-year-old student Danielle McLaughlin was on a backpacking trip to the Indian state in 2017 when she was raped and brutally murdered. The trial of the man accused of her murder was expected to reach a verdict this week but proceedings were suddenly extended for a further four months.

A 53-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the murder of teenager Blake Newland in Limavady. Michael Joseph Charles McGlinchey, from Row Mill Gardens in Limavady appeared before Coleraine Magistrates' Court via videolink. He spoke only to confirm his name and that he understood the charge. A detective sergeant said he was aware of the facts and the circumstances of the case and said he believes he could connect the accused to the charge.

The Police Ombudsman has sent out over 200 letters to families to inform them investigations into the killings of their family members during the Troubles will no longer continue. It follows the passing of the Northern Ireland Troubles Legacy Bill which brings all investigations and inquests to an end in May. The ombudsman has informed some families that there is no longer any prospect of their complaints being investigated before the cut off point.

Raising nearly £20,000 at auction must make Sleepy one of the most expensive sheep ever bought at auction in Northern Ireland. He was raised as a pet lamb by 15-year-old Georgia Hamilton and her dad Christie on their farm near Clady. But tragedy struck last September when Christie suddenly fell ill in front of Georgia and her three younger sisters as the family prepared sheep to take to market. The Air Ambulance responded within minutes but the 41-year-old passed away from a suspected heart attack.
