These ten teams have been similarly bad, as they’ve been the worst teams in baseball since integration in 1947, sorted by win percentage. The Padres were an expansion team in 1969, and they were atrocious. The pitching was bad, though it did feature a young Joe Niekro.

The Denver Nuggets have shown a lot of guts so far in the 2025 NBA Playoffs. After firing head coach Michael Malone and general manager Calvin Booth just days before the end of the regular season, they’ve picked themselves off of the mat and entered Sunday with a 2-1 lead over the heavily-favored Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference Semifinals. They lost on Sunday, however, fading down the stretch with a golden chance to go up 3-1, 92-87, in a slugfest.

UNC Head Coach Bill Belichick has been in the news for all of the wrong reasons lately, and it deals with his 24-year-old girlfriend Jordon Hudson. Remember how bad the Chicago White Sox were last season? The ChiSox took the crown as the worst worst team in modern MLB history, and somehow, the 2025 Colorado Rockies are on a much worse pace than the 2024 White Sox. On Saturday, things somehow reached a new low for a team that was a horrific 6-32 entering the game. But, they lost by an astonishing score of 21-0 to the Padres, and their fans were despondent. The Rockies have been dreadful since winning 91 games in 2018.

These ten rookies are in the thick of the Rookie of the Year race. Early in the season, the AL and NL Rookie of the Year races are hard to predict. Plenty of top prospects will be called up in the next month or two that have the ability to shake up this race significantly. But, as of now, these ten have put themselves in the race. There aren’t a lot of walks and there isn’t much power in the bat, but he’s been one of the very best contact hitters in baseball so far.
