It is “upside down day” in America. For me, that is like having breakfast for dinner – a treat. But for the federal government an upside-down existence can be a disaster. Our priorities should be on saving lives and protecting our financial status – the traditional peace, health, and prosperity model. Unfortunately, in all those areas we are sliding backwards. Saving American lives has always been our nation’s priority.

We lost a man who served his country well for many decades in Congress, including being chair of the powerful Ways and Means Committee and a war hero as the recipient of a Bronze Star for valor and a Purple Heart after being wounded in combat. I was honored to know, work with and to have been befriended by this giant of a man, Charlie Rangel.
