    Concerns have been raised following the death of a 33-year-old man at a Stoke-on-Trent bail hostel. Carl Sheldon was residing at Wharflane House Approved Premises in Shelton having been released on licence from HMP Dovegate on March 2, 2021. He had been convicted of robbery back in 2017 and sentenced to seven and half years in prison. An inquest held into his death has heard that Carl had been found slumped on the floor of the Rectory Road hostel on March 8, 2021.

The hit daytime show was back in Chesterton for today's episode to see mum Anne's completed house renovation - almost four years on. She first featured on the show in 2020 as she prepared to start her new life - with the aim of eventually bringing her son Connor home to stay with her.

Caroline Lowndes, from Tunstall, hailed the staff as her "heroes" after their actions prevented a potentially fatal blood loss due to a ruptured uterus.

    Stoke-on-Trent's vacant former Carpetright store is set to be turned into a Dougie Mac charity shop. The store in Hanley permanently shut its doors last summer after the well-known brand collapsed into administration. Although Carpetright was bought in a rescue deal by rival flooring retailer Tapi, it didn't result in the Etruria Road store being saved. Tapi agreed to buy the Carpetright brand, intellectual property, 54 stores and two warehouses in a pre-pack administration deal.

    Plans have been lodged to turn a three-bed semi-detached property on a "quiet cul-de-sac" in Stoke-on-Trent into a children's residential care home. The property on Andrew Mulligan Close, in Tunstall, would cater for one child aged five to 17-years-old if the change of use proposal is given the green light.
