On April 2, the President imposed extensive new tariffs on our nation’s trading partners. These presidential “diktats” plunged markets into tailspins and enhanced the likelihood of a recession. One week later, Mr. Trump announced a 90-day pause on reciprocal tariff levies except for China.

President Trump believes “unfair” tariffs have economically disadvantaged American businesses and workers. In some instances, he may be correct. Yesterday, President Trump announced an omnibus tariff program that includes a 10 percent universal tariff with some exceptions for semiconductors, pharmaceuticals, and critical minerals.

President Trump created the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to reduce costs, improve productivity, and downsize the federal government. How DOGE conducts its business will determine if it achieves the goals the President has set out. Eliminating government waste requires transparency and an accurate assessment of costs and benefits.

RI leadership is punting in dealing with primary care doctor crisis, and @GovDanMcKee lacks common sense and leadership to help. Make no mistakes if states don’t address health and education challenges they will not successfully compete in the 21 Century economy.
It's worse. He's just a ham-handed version of every RI Democrat. Their solution is always to try to prevent people from acting in their own best interests when it might conflict with special interests.
