Acrisure LLC said Tuesday it has hired former Aon executives Roman Romeo and Barry Gordon in its Bermuda reinsurance division. Mr. Romeo was named head of Acrisure Re Bermuda, effective April 7. He will report to Michael Cross, president of Acrisure Re North America. Previously, Mr. Romeo was CEO of Aon reinsurance solutions, Bermuda. Before joining Aon in 2022, he headed Axis Capital Ltd.’s North American property reinsurance business in Bermuda.

United Risk, an affiliate of Applied Underwriters Inc., said Monday it has launched a managing general agent focused on reinsurance. The MGA is headed by Jay Cahill, previously chief financial officer of New York-based United Risk. The unit will provide property/casualty, cyber liability and credit reinsurance coverage, Applied Underwriters said in a statement. It will offer coverage beginning with June renewals and establish operational offices in New York, London and Bermuda for Jan.

Aon PLC Friday launched a product to cover liabilities associated with plugging abandoned oil and gas wells in the United States. The plug and well exit liability coverage, which was developed with Chicago-based environmental company Tradewater LLC, includes the option to add an associated state regulatory agency as an insured, an Aon statement said. The product provides some protection for buyers and investors in carbon credits arising from the projects, Aon said.
