A man has appeared in court after a car crash left a passenger dead when he was thrown from a car in the Brecon Beacons. Craig Thomas, 51, of Cwrt y Tarrell in Llanfaes, Brecon, stands accused of causing death by careless driving while unfit through drugs. Merthyr Tydfil Magistrates' Court heard a Ford Focus overturned after hitting a verge on the A470 on 22 March. Passenger Lee Sullivan, 48, from Brecon, was thrown from the vehicle and landed in a stream. He died at the scene.

Swansea Crown Court heard that the gang set up "front" businesses including car washes and a barber's shop in an attempt to hide their criminal enterprise in Aberystwyth, Ceredigion. All the defendants previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply drugs or had been convicted at trial.
