It is a gothic horror wherein the good man is very bad. Said Martin Bramah cryptically when asked about the song. Literate and knowing it’s more Swiftian prose amidst a musical sea of progressive psychedelia with that Fall-alumni backbone and backbeat.

LTW premieres the video…Up The Hill and Down the Slope is one of the Top Ten Greatest ‘indie when it Meant Something’ Singles ever made. The Loft probably wouldn’t have been Bigger Than The Beatles if we’re honest, but are the Great Lost Band of the 80’s, who should have a far bigger reputation than they do. It’s fantastic to see them back.
