A group of 11 ladies of all ages gathered for afternoon tea at Ashlands Manor to celebrate International Nurses Day. With a theme of ‘nursing through the times’ the ladies enjoyed tea and coffee and delicious cakes as they discussed their careers as nurses. The group comprised six nurses who work at Ashlands Manor currently, plus five residents at the care home who used to be nurses or midwifes.

A group of 11 ladies of all ages gathered for afternoon tea at Ashlands Manor Care Centre in Sale to celebrate International Nurses Day. The group comprised six nurses who work at Ashlands Manor currently, plus five residents at the care home who used to be nurses or midwifes. The lounge was decorated with lots of old pictures of the residents both training and working as nurses displayed, allowing them all to reminisce.

To coincide with International Nurses Day, the team at Formby Manor, located on Liverpool Road, chose to celebrate nurses past and present. All nurses who work at the care facility currently received a personalised card from the home, thanking them for their continuous hard work and achievements. Residents at the home, who used to have a career in nursing, also received a personalised card.

A group of school children from Crow Orchard Primary, aged between seven and nine, visited Bellway’s Lathom Pastures development on Neverstitch Road in Skelmersdale for a lesson in construction. In total, 26 pupils enjoyed the site visit to Lathom Pastures, including 14 children from Year 4 and 12 children from Year 3.
