The annual Wisconsin Governor's Business Plan Contest, which connects early-stage tech businesses with resources and a statewide business network, is accepting entries for its 2025 competition. Home sales have been brisk in Brookfield this year, and prices are nearly $24,000 higher than in 2023, according to the Greater Milwaukee Association of Realtors . A total of 400 homes sold in Brookfield in the first nine months of the year, for an average price of $540,029, the Realtors reported. That's a $23,901 price increase year over year.

Roundy's Supermarkets, Inc. — a subsidiary of American grocery giant Kroger — paid $1 million in fines and fees following a probe into its package and labeling practices, state regulators announced Tuesday. Under the settlement, Roundy's did not admit wrongdoing.
