The No. 6 Aledo Ladycats softball team continued its demolition through district opponents with a home contest Tuesday night against the Saginaw Lady Roughriders. The Ladycats came out of the gates with great force and execution, scoring an astounding 15 times in the first inning alone. Aledo’s dominant entrance paved the way for smooth sailing, to the tune of a 19-0 final score in three innings via mercy rule.

The score of 3-2 may be something tattooed on the hearts of the Brewer baseball brass for the rest of this season, courtesy of baseball heroics from the Aledo Bearcats. After taking down the Bears 3-2 on the road on March 12 in the first part of the teams’ scheduled home-and-home series, Aledo returned to its home field and won in a similar fashion.

After blanking Brewer 7-0 on the road to open district play in their previous outing, the No. 6 Aledo Ladycats softball team hosted the Chisholm Trail Lady Rangers in Aledo’s first district home tilt of the season Tuesday night, March 11. Offensively, Aledo started off hot with a 4-0 lead and never looked back, ultimately walking away with a 12-2 victory in six run-rule shortened innings.

The Aledo Ladycats softball team put on a show for their home fans on a slightly breezy Tuesday night (Feb. 25) in a dominant performance against the John Horn Lady Jaguars. After battling the Lady Jags through a couple of scoreless innings, Aledo’s bats began to heat up as the game progressed. In the end, Aledo crossed the finish line with an impressive 11-0 victory in six run-rule-shortened innings that came to an end after junior Delaney Rosser smacked a standup RBI triple to walk it off.

AZLE – The Aledo High School boys and girls basketball teams have earned high marks on their respective seasons thus far and both achieved major accomplishments in their most recent district-doubleheader Tuesday night, Feb. 4, at Azle. The Ladycats locked up the second seed in District 5-5A with a 45-23 demolition and finished the year 10 games above .500 while the boys squad impressively won 79-54 to secure the program’s first-ever district title.
