Arthouse distributor and streaming service Mubi has acquired all rights in key markets to Sentimental Value, Joachim Trier’s latest feature film, which will premiere in competition at the 78th Cannes Film Festival, as unveiled on Thursday. Mubi has taken all rights to the movie in the U.K., Ireland, Latin America, Turkey and India. “Theatrical release plans will be announced in coming months,” it said. Neon previously acquired the movie for North America.

Global streaming giants didn’t mince their words on Thursday when they reacted to a call from a U.K. parliamentary committee for a levy of 5 percent of U.K. subscriber revenue on foreign streaming services, including the likes of Netflix, Amazon, Apple TV+ and Disney+, to help finance British drama production.

Ne Zha 2, China’s animated mega-blockbuster, is getting another, and very special, way to excite fans and the entertainment industry. The Beijing International Film Festival has unveiled that an exhibition featuring 150 posters for the movie hand-painted by director Yang Yu, who goes by the name Jiaozi, will take place during its 15th edition, which runs April 18-26. Enlight Media recently sold the movie across Europe. Ne Zha 2 is already the highest-grossing animated film in movie history.
