George assumed the volunteer duties as the Editor of the Highway 58 Herald in 2022.

By GEORGE CUSTER/Editor — The Highway 58 Herald’s board of directors has decided that to better serve our communities, we’ve decided that we need The Herald to be available to everyone – for free. Though there’s nothing free in this world, our costs continue to rise. We are continually looking for other sources of revenue to ensure that The Herald be made available to all at no cost to the reader.

By Eli Thomas It was fitting that on the Lowell Red Devils senior day, senior center fielder Jamar Thurman came through with a game-tying single in the bottom of the sixth inning of Lowell’s matchup with North Douglas/Elkton. Sophomore Zak Hermansen followed up with a high fly ball that somehow found grass between three North Douglas/Elkton defenders, scoring two runs and giving Lowell a 4-2 lead.
