On January 20, 2025, President Trump re-assumed the presidency with a flurry of executive orders and memoranda, many of which directly impacted energy and environmental issues. These orders included a production-minded strategy entitled “Unleashing American Energy,” a short-term regulatory freeze, a declaration of a national energy emergency, a specific order regarding wind energy and an order establishing the new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
