The process of making a wood sculpture of Jesus Christ took the artist James Grashow four years to complete. There are some weighty topics - both biblical and personal - that are explored in the documentary "Jimmy & the Demons," about the sculptor and woodcut artist James Grashow. First there is the art, which is inspired by religion. Grashow, 83, is the titular "Jimmy" in the film, which will debut on Sunday at the Tribeca Festival.

When cosplayers descend on New York Comic Con, they're looking to meet their favorite creators and show off their outfits - but they often end up in need of costume triage. Armed with glue guns, zip ties, Popsicle sticks and safety pins, the Paladins of Cosplay come ready to fix wardrobe malfunctions - like a dangling shoulder pad, an imploding jetpack or any number of hazards that costumed fans face. "I really love helping people," said Law Asuncion, 46, who founded the Paladins in 2017.

The annual Harvey Awards hall of fame ceremony is back next Friday at New York Comic Con, and is adding five members to its ranks. The inductees include Arthur Adams, an artist perhaps best known for his X-Men illustrations; the writer and artist Sergio Aragonés, who did extensive work for Mad magazine; and Larry Hama, who has written G.I. Joe stories since 1982.

It is hard to imagine something new happening to Batman after 85 years of adventures in comic books, television and film. But he has a new notch on his utility belt: He has received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Batman is the first superhero honored on the Walk of Fame, which is administered by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. (Mickey Mouse was the first fictional character to receive a star, in 1978.) Batman’s recognition is the 2,790th since the first eight stars were unveiled in 1958.
