A squeaker last week. Donald Trump’s various and sundry nominees and appointees, who have been our top Attention-Whore Index vote-getters for three weeks running, saw their streak ended by a pair of upstart offshoot challengers: appointee Kimberly Guilfoyle and potential appointee Lara Trump. When the dust settled, Guilfoyle and Trump were at 26.6 percent, and the (other) Trump Nominees were at 25.4 percent.

Our most recent competition, just before Thanksgiving, yielded unsurprising results: the nominees—that rogues’ gallery of Trump appointees and would-be appointees—won with 40.8 percent, while one of them, the attorney general flameout, Matt Gaetz, running separately, finished a strong second (26.7 percent).

Even though we’ve lately had a surfeit of voting results and dissections thereof, here come some more. In last week’s Attention-Whore Index competition, top honors went to the incoming First Felon, Donald Trump (44.3 percent). Two increasingly bizarre objects of Trump’s bromantic affections were next, Elon Musk (17.1 percent) and Tucker Carlson (14 percent). It’s worth noting that one of Trump’s ex-bromancees placed fourth (Rudy Giuliani, 11.4 percent).
