    A longtime Detroit TV reporter is on administrative leave after police executed a search warrant at his home. Hank Winchester, an investigative consumer reporter with WDIV-TV (Local 4), is known for his “Help Me Hank” segment, which focuses on cases of consumer fraud. Before joining WDIV 24 years ago, Winchester worked at CBS affiliate WNEM-TV 5 in the Flint/Saginaw market, as well as at stations in Lansing and Marquette.

    Southeast Michigan was hit by several rounds of severe storms Tuesday, bringing torrential rain, powerful wind gusts and reports of a funnel cloud that may have briefly touched down in the Detroit area. Marilyn Majors was near 13 Mile and Gratiot and captured YouTube video of the storm. She shared the clip, embedded below, with CBS Detroit. The video shows a funnel cloud forming and briefly appearing to make contact with the ground during an intense storm.

    Families facing tough times can pick up free groceries later this month thanks to a local ambulance company that’s stepping up to help. Patriot Ambulance Service is teaming up with Companies Feeding Families for its annual Community Food Giveaway, happening Wednesday, June 25 at 7:30 a.m. at Flushing Church of the Nazarene. More than 1.2 million people in Michigan face food insecurity, according to Feeding America, and that includes one in every seven children.
