    There are still a few things around that can be said are 100% real American. The idea of freedom at any cost, integrity to the flag, and respect for the men and women who fought for the United States. Both those who survived various wars and conflicts and for those who gave the ultimate sacrifices. These sacrifices were made to ensure that any American who wants to celebrate his or her religion, pray to the God they believe in and to cast their vote from their heart, the right to keep doing that.

    We are into the second week of the new year; 8 days of 2025 are almost history. This year is flying by already, there is only 98% of the year remaining, and to borrow from the Beatles, the magical mystery tour is not stopping anytime soon. When July 2 rolls around, 50% of the year will have disappeared and the following 50% will not go by any slower. You know I am right. We say the same thing every year.

    It’s crunch time at the North Pole. Only four weeks until Christmas, that means the elves have roughly 672 hours to have all of the toys ready for the GRB, Gigantic Red Bag on the back of Santa’s sleigh. You thought you have stress as a last-minute shopper, try being a last-minute toy maker with tiny elf hands and a Jolly Old Fat Man breathing down your neck making sure you don’t make a mistake. Talk about elfen stress!Yet, somehow, they seem to make the deadline every year.

    As we get on in years, we find that we don’t need as much as we used to. It’s sort of like a huge holiday dinner. Every Thanksgiving my family would prepare a feast for a king. We had the usual turkey and stuffing, of course, but we had a ham, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, salads of at least three different kinds, and cranberry sauce. Not the canned kind with the ribs, but a slab of it freshly made by my grandmother. Then there were the staple casseroles, and my favorite, mac n cheese.
