The hearing will be held in the auditorium at Piedmont Community College at 1715 College Drive, Roxboro.

At its work session last Friday, the Person County Board of Commissioners began discussing potential changes to the county Economic Development Commission’s responsibilities and floated the idea of creating a new advisory board over the Department of Social Services. In discussing the EDC, the commissioners proposed giving the board power to have more oversight over the county’s economic development department, which could include hiring and firing power over the department director.

At a work session last Friday, the Person County Board of Commissioners eliminated a cent off the proposed tax rate for the 2025-26 budget.
