THE WHAT DSM-firmenich has announced the appointment of Laetitia Pictet as Chief Legal, Risk and Compliance Officer, effective May 1, 2025. She succeeds Jane Sinclair who is retiring, and will report to CEO Dimitri de Vreeze. THE DETAILS Pictet joined Firmenich in 2015 and, following the merger in 2023, assumed the responsibilities of Corporate Secretary for DSM-firmenich, alongside Risk Management.

THE WHAT Unilever has appointed Jean-Philippe Courtois as R&D Director for its Prestige division. Courtois has worked for the UK-based FMCG manufacturer for the past 25 years, most recently as Unilever Prestige R&D Strategy and Operations Lead. THE DETAILS Unilever’s prestige portfolio has grown considerably over the past decade and now comprises Tatcha, Hourglass Cosmetics, Living Proof, Murad, Dermalogica and REN. Premium hair care brand, K18, joined the unit in December.

THE WHAT A Delhi High Court has found in favor of L’Oreal in a case which charged the defendants with infringing its registered trademark and copyright. The French beauty giant was granted a permanent injunction and nominal costs of ₹1,000,000. THE DETAILS According to a report published by SCC Online Times, the court also ordered the appointment of local commissioners to conduct search-and-seizure operations at the defendants’ premises to seize the infringing goods.
