The prosecution: Xenia He says his throat is dry but to me spitting is a sign of disrespect. I’ve seen people look shocked by itMy boyfriend, Ahmed, has a habit I find disgusting: he’s always spitting in public. I think that’s bad enough, but he does it really loudly, which makes it worse – a huge hack sound followed by a big glob of spit, which goes flying. It’s so gross, and sometimes draws attention.

The prosecution: Liam Surely doing a favour badly is worse than not doing it at all? It took me three hours to fixA few weeks ago, while I was preoccupied with medical exams, my housemate Ray kindly offered to wash my car. However, I later found out that he had used only soap and water.

The prosecution: Paul I don’t mind Mum wanting to visit Vietnam, but why at Christmas, a time our family is always together? Mum recently booked a Christmas holiday to Vietnam with her partner, Mike. I don’t mind that she wants to go away with Mike, who I like. But she booked the trip without saying a word to me or my sister, Christine. It’s not that we don’t want our mum to be happy, and Christine and I are both adults (I’m 28, she is 32).

The prosecution: Rupi The old fittings are works of art – replacing them with dull modern ones would be blasphemousMy boyfriend Raf and I have just bought our first home and we love it. We found a two-bedroom Victorian house with original features, including the fireplace and geometric tiles in the hallway. I’m of the opinion that the original features should all be kept because they are beautiful. It’s so rare to find period homes and we shouldn’t be ripping everything out. Raf disagrees.
