1 IntroductionThe ability to locate individuals within their own residence has a multitude of applications, including the automation of tasks, securing doors when no one is home, detecting unauthorized presences, monitoring human activity, and identifying potential help situations, particularly for the elderly (Wilhelm et al., 2020). The conventional method for detecting individual’s presence in a room is through infrared motion sensors and image-processing systems such as surveillance cameras.
