I set out to write an article on the contradictions and complexities of dual agency (sometimes referred to as double ending a deal) in real estate but in reviewing the different court cases and literature, I soon had so many thoughts on paper that I decided to make it a series. I’ll start by throwing out a few ideas for consideration and in the next few articles I will dive deeper into each idea one by one.

No surprise to most of us, the Competition Bureau (CB) is investigating the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA)’s MLS commission policy requiring a commission be paid to buyers’ agents, and the Cooperation Policy requiring all listings to be on the MLS within three days.

PCI Developments’ appetite for redevelopments within Vancouver's Broadway corridor shows no signs of abating. "We have numerous developments along that Broadway Corridor," PCI senior vice-president Jarvis Rouillard told RENX, first mentioning a 39-storey office, residential and retail tower project under construction at the corner of Broadway and Granville streets. That project is all rental and is fully integrated with the subway station PCI is also building.
